this is a beautiful bottle from the 1800s that originally held mineral water from the Apollinaris Spring. produced by Georg Kreuzber, a wine merchant from Ahrweiler who in the 1850s began bottling mineral water.  by 1860, 40,000 bottles had been dispatched across the globe.  the refinery shut down in 1878. this bottle is No 90, marked on the back top of the bottle.

for modern use, this bottle has the height and coloration to stand out among the best bookshelf styling.  it can hold dried arrangements, fresh cuttings or make a statement on it's own.

fun fact: the same time period, and a more worn version of this bottle was sold at christie's auction house in 1998 for approx $350 us dollars after being recovered off the north sea from a ship wreckage.

dimensions: 11.5"h x 3.5"w (at the handle and widest point, it's 4.5"w)
